The Forgotten Bottles Story

For those of us that have dreamed of discovering buried treasure or inventing some toy or product that nobody has ever seen, we anticipate and innately desire an associated feeling that ultimately will excite us.

Many of us achieve that feeling even through ordinary, daily activities less monumental than the finding of buried treasure. That instantaneous moment, the one or two seconds in time, the period of surprise!
I understand this moment to be "serendipity".

I imagine we develop this emotional reaction to certain events through our behavior as early as infants. Although I don’t remember this feeling as a child, I do know the enjoyment I receive when a child of age two or so is captured by me hiding behind anything, only for me to pop out and surprise them. The smile on their face is of course priceless.

As we grow older this reaction to surprise seems to change a bit while the natural instinct remains the same. Our life experiences and the knowledge that we attain through those experiences seems to lend itself to certain expectations. Basically, we seem to expect more from the experience. Many of us actually seek the feeling.

This website is designed for the discoverer in all of us. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy that serendipitous moment of surprise when I discover something new and exciting.
